‘Dislocated shoulder while diving’ Lee Jae-hyun, medical examination shows no major problems “likely to rest for 2-3 days”

Luck of the draw. Samsung Lions infielder Lee Jae-hyun escaped serious injury. He suffered a dislocated shoulder while attempting to make a diving catch, but after a medical examination, Lee Jae-hyun was found to be fine.

Lee Jae-hyun started at shortstop 꽁머니 as the eighth batter on August 13 against the SSG Landers in Munhak. In the top of the third inning, Jae-hyun led off with a single and was retired on a grounder to shortstop.

Later in the inning, Jae-hyun came in to play defense and made a sliding catch of Choi Ji-hoon’s straight hit to shortstop with the bases loaded to force out the runner at second base.

A Samsung representative said, “Lee Jae-hyun was replaced because he was in a lot of pain due to a dislocated shoulder. His shoulder blade is back in place and he is currently icing it. He plans to undergo a hospital checkup in Daegu tomorrow.”

Lee Jae-hyun traveled to Daegu on the 14th to undergo a medical examination. As a result, it was confirmed that there were no major abnormalities related to the dislocated shoulder. Lee Jae-hyun’s name was not on the KBO League’s first team roster announced on the afternoon of the 14th.

A Samsung representative said on Thursday, “As a result of Lee Jae-hyun’s medical examination, it was confirmed that there is no major abnormality related to his dislocated shoulder. The player continues to be stable. There is no immediate removal from the first team roster. He is expected to be fine after resting for two to three days.”

Lee appeared in 100 games this season, batting .243 with 82 hits, 10 home runs, 41 RBIs, a .300 on-base percentage and a .374 slugging percentage.
